Empa is the interdisciplinary research and services institution for material sciences and technology development of the ETH Domain. The Molecular Surface Science Group of our Laboratory for Nanoscale Materials Science studies molecular self-assembly at surfaces and thin film syntheses. Within the framework of projects supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation we are offering:

PhD positions with focus on two-dimensional molecular crystallization

for candidates with a Diploma or Masters degree in chemistry or physics.

The work will concentrate on new carbon materials with novel properties for photovoltaics and superconductivity.
We are looking for communicative students with experience in UHV- based methods or scanning probe microscopy.

Positions are immediately available with a planned duration of three years.
